Cable glands are the most common enclosure accessories for NEMA and IP rated models. Boxes may be tightly sealed, but every cutout for a signal wire, power cable, etc. could provide an opening for environmental contaminants to enter the enclosure and damage your electronic design. Mounting your design into the enclosure should not be an afterthought. Installation of printed circuit boards and electrical components should be easy, and changes in the field should be easy as well. A simple solution is to use an internal mounting panel. With the panel removed from the enclosure, it is easy to mount components. Then the panel may be installed inside the enclosure. This avoids damaging the integrity of the enclosure, as well.
