“A habit is something that you do without thinking, which is why most of us have so many of them.” Frank Clark is attributed with this quote and although we can all apply it readily to our personal lives, it also fits many peoples’ professional lives as well. When it comes to buying and specifying electronic enclosures, most designers revert to their past practices which are often inefficient, expensive and untimely. Quite often, they work for a company that has an internal machine shop and so they buy an off the shelf enclosure and then give it to their internal machine shop or the job shop around the corner so that they can have cutouts, slots or other variations installed. This is an easy habit to develop and much too difficult to break.
Bud Industries provides the fastest modified Electronic Enclosure in the industry
Just this week, we had a customer try to return 25 modified enclosures to us claiming that it was not modified correctly. They were right that it had not been modified correctly, but we had not done the modifications. Instead, it was their internal machine shop that used the wrong cutting technology and the wrong coolants during that process and they were left with defective parts. I am hopeful we have helped break them of the habit of assuming it is faster and cheaper to have the work done internally. Using our routine 5 day delivery program, we were able to take our standard product, modify it using the proper tools and equipment, and ship it out in five days following their approval of the modifications. They were done to their (and our) exacting specifications creating a win-win for both of us.
Break that habit and contact Bud or your local distributor for more details and a quote.
