Are you looking for a top-quality, yet affordable enclosure to protect your electronic designs? Look no further than Bud Industries’ line of die cast aluminum enclosures! Compared to boxes made of other materials, our aluminum die cast enclosures offer application advantages.
Our die cast aluminum enclosures are created using molten #ADC-12 aluminum alloy poured into a mold and set to solidify. This makes them thicker than sheet-metal enclosures, adding to durability and allowing them to sink more heat. In this respect they are a better option compared to many plastic enclosures.
Like plastic boxes, aluminum enclosures are perfect for keeping your equipment safe from atmospheric and marine corrosion, with some models even meeting IP67 submersible or waterproof enclosure ratings.
Die cast aluminum is a good choice for a weatherproof enclosure because—unlike a sheet metal enclosure—there are no seams by which errors in welding could allow ingress of moisture. Also, aluminum is naturally resistant to corrosion caused by weather. Bud offers many series of die cast boxes that meet various NEMA and IP requirements for water and dust protection. Of course, the enclosure must be well sealed, which in our case means a continuous gasket and a tightly fitting screw-down cover.
Bud’s line of die cast NEMA 4 aluminum enclosures includes a number of options. No matter what your specific needs are, we have an enclosure that will suit them perfectly.
Hinged covers are available for applications needing convenient access to the components inside. A good example of a hinged enclosure is our AN Series Hinged enclosure.
Aluminum is an ideal material for EMI/RFI shielding, but to be assured of complete shielding, the gasket must be of a special type. Our ANS Series enclosure comes with a metal mesh gasket that extends the shielding across the seal.
You may consider mounting flanges for your die cast aluminum box. Flanges enable easy mounting to a wall or machine, with the screw holes located outside of the sealed area. Our affordable CN Series aluminum die cast enclosure is available in a style having mounting flanges. The flanges are molded in at the time of manufacture. The flanges are on the base of the enclosure, so users can remove the cover without removing the enclosure from the wall.
If an enclosure is not available in a flanged style, then separate mounting brackets are available as an accessory, such as this mounting bracket kit for our explosion-proof ATEX-rated enclosure.
What’s more, some models in our popular AN-A Series have tapped holes in the base that allow for wall mounting from the rear.
Some of our line of die cast aluminum enclosures, like the AN Hinged Series, come with an attractive powder coat finish. Others, like the IPS Series, come in raw aluminum for a no-frills NEMA-rated/IP-rated solution (although we may be able to powder coat them upon request.)
Our die cast aluminum enclosures are extremely durable and built to last, so you can rest assured knowing that your electronics and components are well-protected. What’s more, they are easy to modify and fall under our 5-Day Modifications Program, the fastest turnaround in the industry.
