CLEVELAND, Ohio—August 17, 2021 Bud Industries, a leading manufacturer of electronic enclosures, has introduced a PN-A Series of enclosures that increases the protection on Bud’s popular PN Series of polycarbonate plastic boxes to NEMA 6P and IP68. The PN-A enclosure keeps electronic components dry even when the box is completely submerged in water.
“The new PN-A Series has been tested to withstand being submerged under more than a meter of water and for more than 30 minutes,” said Blair Haas, Bud Industries CEO.
The new series of plastic boxes was developed for applications ranging from marine, wastewater, and agriculture, to pools and spas. Because they also protect components against water spray and weather, they provide added confidence for little additional cost in data communications (wi-fi), factory automation, mining.
The PN-A Series enclosures are designed to meet the requirements of IP68, UL508A, NEMA 1, 2, 3, 4, 4x, 6, 6P 12, and 13. They are UL Listed. They are available in 15 sizes ranging from 2.05 inches x 1.97 inches x 1.30 inches to 11.81 inches x 9.06 inches x 3.41 inches.
Long Service Life
The boxes are molded of corrosion-resistant polycarbonate plastic, and feature an opaque or clear cover. Clear covers help preserve protection by avoiding the need cut holes in the enclosure for displays and indicators. To provide a long service life, the plastic is UV-stabilized for use in outdoor location and includes a UV94-HB flammability rating. For strength, the cover attaches using non-magnetic stainless-steels screws that thread into brass inserts.
Versatile Mounting
The enclosures are designed for versatile applications. Wall mounting holes are included. Some models come with molded mounting flanges, and optional external mounting brackets are available.
Easy Installation
The installation of components is simplified by a number of enclosure features. Internal bosses allow the horizontal mounting of printed circuit boards and the connection of terminals. Most models have internal guide slots for mounting PCB assemblies vertically. Optional aluminum internal mounting panels (PNX Series) are available.
Price and Availability
PN-A Series plastic enclosures are available from the top industrial electronic distributor’s stock at prices starting at $4.15 with quantity discounts available.
