CLEVELAND, Ohio—October 22, 2013—Bud Industries, a leading manufacturer of electronic enclosures, has announced tablet enclosures that meet the IP65 rating for waterproofing and dust.
Unlike other tablet enclosures that are available from major distributors in North America, the Bud enclosures are available with an optional, oil-tolerant silicone gasket that seals out water and airborne contaminants. Therefore they are ideally suited for industrial automation and control applications, where tablets may be used in harsh environmental conditions.
In addition, the tablet enclosures are priced 20 to 30% less than leading competitive tablet enclosures.
According to IMS Research, the global industrial automation market is predicted to reach more than $200 billion by 2015. This will increase the need for tablet enclosures, which are increasingly used for HMI interfaces in portable, desktop or wall-mounted electronic applications.
Bud’s new tablet enclosures are made of high-impact ABS plastic that is flame retardant to UL94-VO (white color) and UL94-HB (black color) and features a recessed area for a touchscreen or LCD screen. The tablet enclosures have a clamshell design that fits together with a tongue and groove seal. They come in a range of sizes from 5.5″ L (140 mm) x 3.9″W (100 mm) x 1.2″H (30 mm) to 12.7″L (322 mm) x 9.1″W (232 mm) x 1.2″H (30 mm).
